Is Cossette doing any McDonald’s anymore? Seems like Wieden did the French of the latest campaign along with the English.

The international menu work was Cossette and it was fantastic.

Cossette just did some nice OOH for the Calgary stampede and I believe they still do the lower funnel work for them.

like

Yes lower funnel. The team at Cossette is better suited to lower funnel anyways so it plays to their strengths

Even Canadian clients have multiple agencies sometimes, I think at least for a while we might see both of them making stuff (which might push the work to be better)

The Wieden spots are great btw

That brief could have easily been one of those lame “look at what our team members did” types of ads we’ve all seen, but they made it look really interesting

I could see a million things that would make that spot really bad (working with real people, clients worried about how you show their employees etc) but they still managed to make ads that stand out

My guess is that Cossette will lose all McD's work within the next 12 months.

I could be wrong. I often am. But that's my prediction.

Someone on LinkedIn expressed disappointment about the lack of diversity from the big law firms in TX that were posting pics of their summer associates. A managing partner commented that he thought the post might be about a pic he posted (12/14 SAs were white). He tried to defend this by saying that they had LGBT and socioeconomic diversity. The fact that he recognized that his pic might be part of the problem says it all. Law firms need to do better. Sorry, I just wanted to rant.

Hi, this is mostly a question for account management and strategists. I’ve been in advertising for a while, and am back in this market after working in others. The main thing I’m noticing that is driving me bonkers is the lack of client talent here. Across the portfolio I oversee it is very rare to get a client that understands how to brief an agency partner (creative or media or pr); there is limited capacity to really focus on objectives other than tactical KPIs.
Is this common/any advice?

Is our industry as competitive as some say? I see a lot of people saying this and I work with a bunch of hacks (myself included). It felt like a little while ago agencies were begging to hire new talent, and most couldn’t find new people. Is it really that hard to get a job at an agency? Maybe I’m just out of touch being in this career for so long.
