Is DD or portco experience required to land PE ops role? I have done strategy work for large enterprises but no DD or portco work.

Never did any DD or PortCo work before landing PE Ops job! Depends on the PE Ops role and what experience they’re looking for. Some may be hiring for a specific functional area but general strategy / growth / commercial project experience. Some support the deal team on diligence and some never do any diligence. So short answer it depends on

Greatly varies by firm. At my fund (LMM / MM) I think 1/3 of us have worked as executives in a portco

I was a VP at one and the experience was very helpful for me, but it’s not required

EY1 - May I DM? Interest in your journey from PE Ops / EY

I am a mid level litigation associate at a midsized firm in NYC, which means working big law hrs, without big law pay. My hesitation going to big law is getting substantially less control/responsibility over cases I handle and the fact that most mid levels I know are running from big law rather than towards it. Any insight and/or suggestions are welcome.

Hello! I’m a recently graduated MSc Criminology student looking for work. I don’t know where to start or what I’m even looking for, but I’m generally interested in criminology, cyber security (no coding experience) & doing research. I’m very social and friendly and enjoy working with people, would also like hybrid work so I can work from home at times.. Any tips as to which roles I should look for? Any specific companies I should look into? (Preferably UK based, but open to most of EU)
