Will hit Delta Gold in MQS and MQD this year; wont hit it on MQM. Was planning on taking alt travel out to the west coast in a few weeks but could also postpone that trip to sometime in January.
I don’t think it makes any difference for me starting my status next year but I’m also not sure?
I’m in the same boat with Platinum and Diamond - I’m choosing to roll over my miles because it is becoming increasingly difficult to get travel approved as an internal employee. i’ll be well past Silver, getting close to Gold, and will easily make Platinum. I try to stay there for YOY status, though it would be awesome to get Diamond due to much better upgrades.
If I thought I was going to travel a lot next year to re-earn status I might try to push for it, but if you think it’s going to be about the same I would roll over.
There’s no difference, but also you don’t roll over unless you hit the minimum for the status you earned.
If you’re at say 40,000 MQMs, those extra 15k past silver don’t roll over just because you hit Gold on segments.
Honestly, I wouldn’t stress that much over gold. I’d probably move the biggest trip, but assuming the rest of your travel will be about equal next year then you should easily make it again.
