If you want something, don't be a dick about it, it's not hard to be polite.
I had a tight deadline recently, and I needed the help of our back office. The guy placed my project above some of my colleagues and really helped me out. When I asked him why ,he said " I like the way you treat me." Key lesson: be human towards the people you work with, even if you think they are beneath you.
Exercise some emotional intelligence
Just start each email with a "hope you're doing well" and all is forgiven
You can be direct and urgent without being an asshole. Learn the difference between concise and curt and you'll get a much different response.
Sad to say but @DB1 is right. What seems like normal request to you will come off as a rude snarky request to someone else.
The lack of tone in emails can make requests blunt. So read it again and add some please and thank yous.
Yeah you'd be filtered to my spam folder.
Was brutally laughed by my VP because I wrote something like " hope you are doing well/have a nice day" ....and was asked not to write those words again…lol
