Delta!!
Additional clarification. This is my first (and perhaps last) travel project as I am Deloitte Federal. Project is Commercial/State & Local.
Three different questions:
1) Which status is more valuable?
MO) AA. Because DL tends to treat even their non-elites fine. At AA you need some sort of status to even be acknowledged.
2) Which FF is valuable?
MO) AA. Better redemption opportunities.
3) So which one should you fly?
MO) DL. Better connections, service and since ATL based. Once you get status it is even better.
That route fly DL. AA will be on Republic E170s or E190s with terrible op reliability and service.
E170/190s are the best! No middle seats!
Delta treats its passengers better, even those with no status
I’ve had DL platinum medallion and am EXP (AA) and 1k (UA) right now. The previous poster is correct about aircraft type/reliability concerns. However if this is not a long term assignment and you’re thinking about future flights out of DCA, then I would strongly recommend AA. Better redemption, they don’t devalue points as much as Delta does with their Program (it isn’t called Sky Pesos by frequent flyers for no reason...). All depends on your longer term travel and expected destinations.
