I think it depends on the industry. In some industries it’s a signal to potential employees that the environment is a corporate one. Not all
Industries and people enjoy a corporate vibe.
Ya the corporate vibe is not fun but at least they mitigate harassment issues
That’s pretty funny, so many of the companies I’ve worked for had HR departments, which were Charlie Fox troughs and so much toxicity. It doesn’t help that some people are so good at making people think that they’re doing a good job when in fact they’re just trying to shoot down anybody they feel in competition with. I’ve had to move departments, twice because of bad leaders. HR departments don’t make a bit of difference, but the question should be does your company have an HR department and an ethics department?
HR is hired by employer to help push their agenda in a more harmonious way. The employer could have been the issue there more than HR.
I was laid off from a job that got rid of their HR, the company is/was bad. My dept and the people I worked with was great. The higher up people and the changes they kept making were horrible. Then I went to another company, that is owned by a huge healthcare name, but its a small company in itself. I left because of how toxic it was.
Smaller companies or those with no HR has been more toxic from my experience because they don’t put effort to acknowledge human beings
Rising Star
I’m not sure I would go by that benchmark, just because HR depts can be a bit notorious for being there to protect the company, from what I have heard
You not wrong. HR is not there for the employee. HR answers to the company. Don't think for one minute they there for you.
