A vacation with no phone and laptop if possible. Second best would be an hour of walk in the nature with no technology. The more you connect with nature and your family, the more you realize that the work you are fretting over is not the major part of your existence. Overall separate yourself from work and try seeing it from a third party angle. I guess meditation does the same but I am too restless to do that.
Good sex
Oh great that's on my bucket list
For me? High adrenaline/dangerous sports like snowboarding and mountain biking.
^This. Anything that makes your blood pump and heart race is the best. Scuba diving, skydiving, gokarting are some other good options but harder to do regularly due to cost and location. Also working out regularly (~5x a week) is great stress relief

Walk my dog 2 hours a day
Cut back on sugar to near zero
+1 dog. Adopted during last summer’s COVID hellscape and it instantly transformed my life. Forced outdoor excursions, unconditional love, entertainment, and a responsibility to focus on outside of work (obvi single no kids here so YMMV).
Endurance sports - running, cycling, triathlon helped me by allowing me to focus on something else with others who shared the same passion. The endorphins also helped. Finally, early retirement totally eliminated the work stress.
TA1 I knew I could retire when I had enough money to cover my annual living expenses with a 4% return on investments. I also went to a couple different investment advisors and had them run an analysis on my assets, risk tolerance, annual budget, charitable goals, etc. They can calculate your odds of being successful. UBS, Merrill Lynch and others will do the analysis for free. Also see newretirememt.com and personalcapital.com for good free online sites to help calculate it yourself.
Bonfire in the backyard while listening to jazz and drinking whisky
Kinda stupid but I go back and re-read emails from the last time I was super stressed/overloaded. I find it very grounding and relaxing - sort of like a “this too shall pass” exercise.
Yes this is interesting
Listen to music. No really LISTEN to some music. Sit or lie down, close your eyes and listen. Even if it's just for 15 minutes
Turn off phone. Go outside. Exercise. Repeat as needed.
Rest when you can. Those that haven’t been through the hardest times feel guilty about resting. Those that have, don’t.
But, but google stuff works! Jk.
Prioritize, and remember it is okay to say no to some commitments if that means burning your candle at both ends. Because if you exhaust yourself for smaller things today, you won't have energy for big things tomorrow, and that will also add to the stress.
Keep in mind, in the grand scheme of things, nothing matters. Eventually, we all die so no one at work cares about you.
With that said, taking responsibility and reaching your goals make life more fulfilling.
having a personal trainer that makes me feel like death by the end of the session
Workout at least twice a week. Indulge in a hobby that consumes all your attention. Allow yourself to step away periodically and look away from the screen every 10 minutes. Have some soft music playing in the background while you are working heads down. Stay barefoot. If the weather is nice, take a break and have a nice drink outside. Block off dinner/family time and religiously defend it from meetings, etc. And absolutely set aside an hour or two or three that are just for you. Carve out that time as best you can. And go out to dinner once a week in your car, or pick.up curbside and eat outdoors.
Disable push notifications for work email on your phone. When I’m working I check email on my laptop, when not I only check work email if I want. Greatly reduced my stress
If you drink, try avoiding Mon-Thurs. I found that it causes sleeping trouble which exacerbates stress. (Before I get skewered for unpopular opinion; I love wine and know how hard this can be)
Microsdosing mushrooms
Mushrooms actually do help
Workout classes helped me, pre covid. Group setting motivated me.
High adrenaline sport, like someone mentioned.
Took break from work, either vacation or sabbatical
Choose a different job.
Go for walks first thing in the morning.
Make sure your room is clean.
Drink water all day.
Work out.
