I have a friend in HR that says it’s 50/50 for women to return after maternity leave. So do whatever you want to do. It’s your life!
That’s wild! I had no idea.
Eh they’ll get over it. I always see be loyal to your family and friends, not a job. Just write a nice note about how it was such a hard decision, etc. do it!
That’s about what I figured. I mean, I’m sure they’ll grumble but how upset can they get that I want to spend more time with my family?
I think do what's best for you and your family. I've missed many family get togethers and vacations with friends because I wanted cannes and work my butt off. A little part of me thinks if I went back, I would do that completely differently
My boss told me to say I was coming back right up until the day I would return - even if I changed my mind. So think it’s pretty common to wait out mar leave and then decide!
Think of it this way. They’ve been moving in without you for this long. If you decide to not come back, no harm done.
If you can hold off a couple months, I think it would be better unless you have another job offer.
Not worried about the next gig, to be honest. I’ll be fine. I’m more concerned about whether it will piss off my current job to bounce right after maternity leave.
So a question for you all- if I do decide to go, should I let them know before my leave is up? I’m struggling with how I should handle the usual 2 weeks notice protocol.
Easiest decision ever, though in my email I said it wasn't. I have quite a bit of resentment towards the leadership on my team but I only mentioned a few things I will miss and the ways I've grown because doing otherwise would be burning a bridge IMO. I didn't LIE. I just left a lot out because hashing it all out in a resignation letter wouldn't benefit me at all.
Good luck to you!
