Is it possible to have PTSD type of symptoms after leaving a horrible/dysfunctional firm? I’m not having nightmares or anything extreme but I feel literally traumatized looking back at my experience there. Anyone else have or had this issue?

Absolutely, I don't want to go into any details, but PTSD is real, and it will have you doubting your skills and second guessing yourself. The only thing you can do is persevere, pray, and jump back on the horse and ride. Law firms are hard to work in, especially when you work for multiple personalities, in a high-stress industry. Good luck.

I am, but the older I get, the more I look forward to retiring frim this industry. Work hard, make as much money as you can, and save for your retirement, so you don't have to deal with anyone's BS anymore. Good luck!

I’ve been told my company is changing my title from Associate Director of BD to Sales Executive. I’m concerned it reads like a title demotion. Is it just semantics? How will this look for my career development? Curious about the standard perception of Sales Executive from a seniority perspective. Where does this land on the sales roles hierarchy? For context, it’s a professional services firm, I’ve been there 3+years, and they gave a Sales Executive title to someone who just started 5mo ago.

Question for anyone who might know - it appears to me Rasmussen releases a poll every week day or close to that, but day to day their margins swing three percent or more, which I think is outside the margin of error (can’t speak for every single poll). How is that kind of change possible from day to day?

Ratios of Admins to Attys at your big law? My firm has first through fourth year associates using a pool system and assigns 5th years and up to an admin. Each admin has 7-9 attys. Word on the street is ratios may increase. Trying to get centralized billing so admins do less. Meanwhile they can’t seem to keep our billing folks from leaving. It’s been a crazy year and lots of disappointing moves.

Benefits Question: how is the health insurance where you are? How does your employer handle it?

This has become one of the most important things when interviewing for me. My last employer went from having no insurance option to giving us one terrible plan that they contributed 50% towards. My current employer works with Gravie so we get so much per month and can use it towards any plan on the marketplace. Only thing that sucks is the contributions are post-tax so it counts as income.

Please share whether or not your firm is offering hybrid work arrangements to support staff.

What billing software does your firm use? Our firm uses Clio and my managing partner hates it. He has asked me to research and find something better.
