Is there such a thing as mid or Sr level mentoring when you're over 40? As in getting mentored not being a mentor, which I already do with my reports.

Of course. One never stops learning and always needs another's perspective. It's hard to be alone and have no-one to consult with. Even harder (impossible) to see ourselves as others see us.

What made you think that mentoring is necessary? Is there a specific area you want to address? Could you keep the need for mentoring on the down low at work, while gaining needed counsel from someone outside the firm? Also consider additional training at conferences as well as schooling such as traditional or online MBA?

Watch out, your mentor at work may be half your age and salary. Probably not a good look.
