I am in a period of growth in my role (in house and getting more exposure to top management) - im grateful for it but I also have constant anxiety during and after work hours. Does anyone who’s been in a similar position have tips for riding this wave? Hoping it’ll get easier.

It’s hard to be motivated when rounds of layoffs happen and you see all your friends leave. But one thing that’s gotten me through all of this is working out. And when I say workout I mean the most pathetic, sad, barely completed beginner-level cardio dance routines. I’ve somehow forced myself to move while on lockdown and it’s somehow forced me to feel better. Last week I had to explain to my child what “politics” (as in office politics) is. My child is going to a new high school and wants to play volleyball. There was a 3 day open “tryout” for incoming freshman for 2 teams. After the first day, she noticed that
1) there were obvious favorites (coaches are not even hiding that fact);
2) some can’t even play and got on the team,
3) some that can obviously play but did not get on the team;
4) decision were obviously made before the first day was over.

Looking for advice... 5 months ago I went from Higher Education (HE) Law Firm. I was so excited to move on and was offered about $16K more in my salary.
