It's difficult to work in a company where people have been promoted on their ability to hang around when times get tough regardless of their inexperience.

When the company hires a CEO based on their sporting interests it compounds the problem further.

This does not represent a healthy environment where an individual can progress their career.

Change my mind: the talk around things shifting to a 'new normal' is overblown. Society's collective conscience is too short-term to enact massive changes to things we are comfortable (e.g., global warming). Yes, it will take awhile for offices to open back up, flights to be full, etc., but within 1-2 years things willbe mostly back to what they are like now and this massive structural shift will have never materialized.
