I’ve been at the same firm for 10 years, and I’m worried it’s actually working against me now that I'm looking for a new job. I wonder if they’ll think I’m unable to learn new tech or a different way of doing things. Has anyone else felt like their loyalty was seen as a lack of flexibility?

Honestly, yes, that concern is valid. Some recruiters do read long tenure as comfort over challenge, especially in fast-moving environments like public accounting. It can trigger assumptions about slower adaptability or limited exposure to different ways of working. It’s unfair, but it happens.

I had this fear, but it turned out to be more in my head than theirs. Once I started clearly explaining how I continued to learn on the job and picked up new tools without being forced, the concern mostly disappeared.

It’s a catch-22. You are a job hopper, or you are stagnant. Just make the most of your situation and talk about what you’ve accomplished while at the same company. Show growth and adaptability through that.

We weigh ten years at one firm as better experience then 10 years at 5 firms. As long as you are showing progression up the ranks you are good. If i see a resume where the candidate only got a promotion when they moved firms thats a red flag specially with 10 years of experience.

Anyone else finding it very difficult to get any enjoyment out of account management these days? Any coping tips? I feel like being an account person is especially difficult in the COVID era since so much of what we do is manage communications, ensure the team is set up well etc. None of this feels particularly fun alone staring into the void of Zoom all day ... but the same pressure is still there. I feel like I spend every week counting down to the weekend which kinda sucks.

What can you do if you’re getting interviewed by the same person who didn’t choose you in the first place?
Context: I applied for a position a while back and got interviewed, but didn’t go to the next round. I found the same position open again a month later at a different location and applied. Almost immediately, I was called for an interview, but with the same interviewer. What does this mean? Is this going to get awkward?

Attended multiple first rounds for mphasis(full time - Texas location). But still I didn’t hear any feedbacks from any of the interview panels/consultancy companies. Seems like they are conducting interviews for name sake and letting us to get wait for the results (for more than a month)
Seriously! positions are available? or I don’t know what’s happening around me. It’s frustrating!

What’s the hiring process of Mphasis?
