Hi fishers! I have offer and signed contract with Deloitte UK and my start day is in the beginning of April. I need skilled worker visa, and we haven’t applied yet for that. Screening and onboarding is in progress. Immigration team doesn’t reply since reached me out 1st time. How much time does it usually needed to go through the whole process? How many days take for visa to be approved since application?Deloitte

AMEX PLATINUM.
15 dollars given per month on Uber/Uber Eats (nice perk since I don’t go out much)
15 x 12 = $180 perk
20 dollars given per month on streaming services (currently have it for netflix and Hulu)
20 x 12 = $240 perk
100 dollars given per year for Saks on Fifth (it’s divided 50 Jan - July / August - December, can not combine for $100 off an item)
100 dollar perk
20 dollars for monthly cell phone bill
12 x 20 = 240 dollar perk
200 dollars off airline add-ons
Access to Centurion Lounge (worth it before Covid, but not opened now)
There are prob some other dollar perks, but bonus is 60K points, but it could go as high 100K points (special promotion) . There’s also nice % on everyday categories.
Con: 550 dollar annual fee.
Pro; it’s a heavy card, perks aren’t toward things you’d never buy and pays for itself and more. I love showing off my amex platinum.
Travel perks aren’t worth the hefty price tag during this time. Amex Gold (https://card.americanexpress.com/m/gold-card/?utm_mcid=3559197&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=%2Bamex%20%2Bgold%20%2Bcard&utm_cmpid=697971536&utm_adgid=38024380684&utm_tgtid=kwd-23328953977&utm_mt=b&utm_adid=440967369750&utm_dvc=m&utm_ntwk=g&utm_adpos=&utm_plcmnt=&utm_locphysid=9004343&utm_locintid=&utm_feeditemid=&utm_devicemdl=&utm_plcmnttgt=&utm_programname=brandcps&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIj92I7Kbj7AIVh43ICh2RYQvOEAAYASAAEgIacPD_BwE) is the way to go.
Thepointsguy dot com is a great site to compare cards with. Usually up to speed with sign on bonuses as well as the valuation of each point. Before signing up, I’d recommend having someone you know refer you to the card you want, so you both can walk away with value. This is the easiest way to help offset the annual fee.
Citi double cash back is 2% Cash back on any and all purchases
I like amex more and I also have chase reserve. Amex has better partnerships and more cash back.
I have blue cash and the rewards are whatever but I’m not really in this for rewards. The customer service is great.
Rising Star
Sapphire reserve is still worth it. The travel credit can be applied against a bunch of stuff that you will wind up getting it, free lyft pink membership, $60 of door dash credits, and despite not going out to eat that much I'm still racking up plenty of triple point food purchases.
I got the CSR last December so didn’t really get to use the travel perks BUT the redeemable statement credit at 1.5X value for groceries and restaurants has been nice since that’s the majority of my spending now. Maybe not the best card out there for that purpose tho. Also I think Lyft pink might include Grubhub membership now in case that’s any better
Rising Star
I opened a Discover card bc their cashback is dece across the first year and they have a multiplier that aligns super well with COVID (Amazon, Target, Walmart = x5 points atm)
Chief
Either go with a card that maximizes your rewards based on your modified spending during covid.
Or go with a card that has a special bonus during covid, that isn't something they offered before and likely won't be something that they will offer later. Just make sure that the benefits are still worth it in the first year if there is a fee.

I saw AMEX hilton offer 150,000 points. I've consistently seen 100,000 point offers.
I believe Chase also upped the offer in one of the Sapphire cards. Not as high as the 100,000 bonus, but higher than it's been in recent years I think.
You can research on sites like Nerd Wallet or Points guy.
Citi double cash (2% cash back on everything else)
Costco card (4% cash back in most gas, 3% on restaurants bars and travel (and no foreign transaction fee), 2% cash back in Costco)
Amazon card (5% cash back on Amazon)
Amex Blue Cash Everyday. (3% cash back on groceries)
If you need someone to recommend you to get more bonus points lmk
Not sure how far along you are in terms of credit cards, but the sapphire preferred ranks very well for those looking to get into cards that have an annual fee. They’re running a bigger welcome offer right now, and you can upgrade to reserve down the line if you want.
Amex Gold (https://card.americanexpress.com/m/gold-card/?utm_mcid=3559197&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=%2Bamex%20%2Bgold%20%2Bcard&utm_cmpid=697971536&utm_adgid=38024380684&utm_tgtid=kwd-23328953977&utm_mt=b&utm_adid=440967369750&utm_dvc=m&utm_ntwk=g&utm_adpos=&utm_plcmnt=&utm_locphysid=9004343&utm_locintid=&utm_feeditemid=&utm_devicemdl=&utm_plcmnttgt=&utm_programname=brandcps&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIqLfUjqTj7AIVh43ICh2RYQvOEAAYASAAEgLvbfD_BwE) card is seriously worth looking into! Perks including signup bonus was upgraded nearly a week ago - making the Amex Consumer Platinum and Chase Sapphire card memberships rather useless. Annual membership fee is $250 as opposed to nearly $600 for cards mentioned above.
All the best on your CC journey. Hope this information helps.
I use capital one savor and love it - 4% cashback on dining and entertainment (including takeout in Covid), 2% at grocery stores and 1% everything else. I got it before there was a fee so I don’t pay for it but they have another one one step down that’s free too.
Pro
It’s awesome. The 300 dollar a year travel credit has been coming off of groceries I get at my local butcher. I think they are making accommodations given how weird of a year it is.
I just applied for chase freedom flex. No annual fee and they have categories every quarter. If you buy phone using that card, you will have phone insurance. Its 5% cashback for paypal and walmart this quarter.
Go watch Graham Stephan on YouTube.
I just got the Freedom unlimited. 5% on grocery
Does anyone know if the Costco Visa gives you the 2% on top of the 2% you already get for the "executive membership"???
I like metal cards and that's one of the few interesting metal cards
Gold star membership is $60/yr. No cash back.
Executive is $120/yr with 2% cash back.
Gotta spend like $3000 to get back the $60 difference, which is like $250/mo. Can get most groceries there.
I get my tires there, but auto program is trash. Travel program is nice if you're old and not doing multi-destination excursions.
There's not really any negatives to the card at all.
It's not metal but the rewards are great.
