I've been self-learning UX/UI for 2 years and working on my portfolio, but I'm getting pretty down about it. I can't find any entry-level jobs - they all want experience. Freelancing doesn't feel right for me either. Now I'm starting to worry I won't be able to get hired at all. Is it really this tough right now, or what am I doing wrong?

What is the best time of the year to be in the notice period?

I mean what is the time of the year where requirements in most of the companies are at pick?

Like in Dec and March you will see less requirement due to Christmas and financial year ending. Similar what is the best period?

Because in my previous switch, 15 days were wasted due to Christmas and in March lot of requirements went on hold due to financial year ending.

How can one transition from a Visual/graphic designer in marketing to a product designer? And what’s it like being a product designer w a visual design background? Will you completely leave behind the graphic design world or are you still wearing many hats and still fulfilling that design and creative buzz? I wanted to share that I am in my first job as ui/ux expert and I am the only ux/ui person in the team. I am expected to take care of entire research and design of the product. It becomes very overwhelming as the product that I am working on is in a early phase and I am expected to think about ui as well as ux and also design entire app on my own.There is no user interview or user testing happening as my project manager thinks it can be done after product is launched. Please help!

It’s a lot more money, more aligned with my career goals, and will have better work life balance. I’d be an idiot to not take this great new opportunity! I started out as a graphic designer. Worked for about 4yrs in different roles. Then i started a digital design role for 2 yrs and then made my transition into ux. i have been in a ux role for 5 years. But i want to steer my career towards something more creative. Like in 5-10 years I wouldn’t want to be a specialist or a ux director. I d like to be an art director or creative director. I love branding & marketing but also product. Would love something that allows me to do both?

I started a full time in-house design job that pays extremely well. I barely have to work at all. This makes me very confused since I kept hearing stories of people working 60+ hr weeks as designers at ad agencies. I am not complaining, but I have this creeping irrational feeling that I’ll get fired for not working even though there’s nothing for me to do. Should i be making up projects or asking for more work? Or just chill out? I just feel very confused. Are a lot of full time jobs like this?

I’m a graphic designer interviewing with a company. Is it normal to ask a potential candidate to redesign a 10 page brochure for their interview test? If not, any suggestions on how to proceed?
