I’ve been trying to time all my interviews so that a decision will happen at the same time but one got delayed and now I have been offered a job with my first day being in three weeks and another job in which I’m still entering for and the salary is 50% more. Should I continue to go through the interviewing of the second job and I should know in a week or two if I get it? The first job is through a recruiter and the second is myself.

Yes, take the job that you have an offer for and if you get the other one, quit the one you previously accepted. Candidates fall through often, that’s why the job market is so frustrating for job seekers. Recruiters intentionally string people along so they can be their #2…and in fact - the job that is now “delayed” is probably just them keeping you engaged as their second choice.

Smart to try and plan, but hard to keep it all on a timeline when it’s out of your control. Continue and get an offer, take what’s best for you, even if it’s rejecting something you already accepted. I hear people getting ghosted after getting an offer. Do what’s good for you.

I would continue going through the interview process if that is a job you are interested in. If you take the first offer, you can always rescind it if you are offered the second role. At the end of the day, you have to do what is best for you.

I'm 56,and its hard to find a position ,I feel they do do that hold ,rolling 1 candidate they are hired while the other one dangles because the one hiring mentioned they will be calling you soon for a second interview..But all the while they have no intentions of hiring..where's the communication

Hi, I'm an employee at a hotel chain who works remotely. I've been working remotely for over a year now and I love it! The company I work for is very supportive of remote workers, which is great.

But there's one thing that's been bothering me: it's hard to get feedback on my work when I'm not in the office. It would be great if there was some kind of system that let me know how my performance was being evaluated while I'm working on projects from home.

Additional Posts in Salary Negotiations

I'm working in the US under H1B, I got a chance to face an interview for another company. My current company started the PERM application also and results will be out within the next 3 months. Is it okay to transfer my H1B to a new company? Can my H1B transfer be denied? How long will my green card application delay if I move to a new company and start to apply for a green card from scratch?

Hi All! Looking for some advice. I am a manager a country club but I do everything. I’m in charge of outside events and member events, in charge of the front of house staff, scheduling, ordering and membership sales for the club. I feel I am very underpaid at $45k. I do get commission but it’s very low ($10k give or take for the year). I work 6/7 days a week sometimes 10+ hrs/day. I’ve been researching salaries to be able to negotiate higher pay. I want to ask for $60k-is this reasonable?

Should I Go Back and Reneg? Recently I was offered a role as a Project Implementation Manager (In Retirement Services) .The salary range for Colorado residents was 65-89K. I accepted already but may get an offer from another HR company in account management around 90-100K. Need advice

I'm new to all this. Is it best to save 10% of my salary all in my company's 401k (with 20% match, increasing by 5% every year)... or saving 5% in 401k and 5% in a Roth IRA?

For expert witnesses/lawyers

I’m a former forensic scientist that left the field several years ago. I recently received a subpoena from a case I worked and suggested to DA to have evidence re-worked by the lab or stipulation. If I am required to testify (as an expert witness), I would need to book a flight, hotel, etc. My question is this: can I ask for my requested hourly rate, travel, and hotel to be covered when speaking with DA or is that “not how this works” as the investigator put it?
