From what I've been seeing, it looks like the small start-ups are banking on getting entry-level talent with no insurance experience (but some sales) in order to pay a little less to start. My guess would be they're banking on finding good talent that is trainable but not necessarily experienced?
Starting to feel like it's similar in a lot of other industries. My buddy works as an analyst for a healthcare agency and it's crazy how they hire new grads without any knowledge of healthcare and expect them to just pick it up on the job. At the very least, these start-ups should provide formal training before the newbies start
Elaborate pls
As someone who is only 3 years in the insurance industry. I definitely agree with you agent!
Sometimes I also feel like a lot of these sales individuals, if they worked at one of the larger carriers that have been around for more than a century, they probably would not be able to survive.
I feel like insurance is such an old industry that it's kind of hard to change up the basics. Gotta get back to the basics.
I see you’re an agent - are you referring to small agency startups? or Insuretechs?
Got an invite for a call to check out an insurtech
They think they can’t afford quality employees.
If you’re talking about steadily? They are only hiring that want to devote their whole life to the company. So if you don’t match that, they won’t hire you.
I’m over 35, Steadily wouldn’t hire me. Plus, they don’t even have benefits you have to pay for them.
Probably can't afford them tbh.
