That’s awesome for your friend. It takes a lot of courage to pack up your old life and move across the country for a new opportunity. I did this before after I graduated college. I will do it again just because of the self growth.

I guess it is about focus and as you said self-growth. Sometimes it makes sense to take these steps if life is not doing favor anymore at the place you are currently living.
Pay Rate is definitely one of the primary reasons to move to a different area. Cost of Living is another. Last year, I was living in Southwest Florida, and making barely above minimum wage in a third-party government job. However, with that job, I wouldn’t have been able to pay the property taxes of my home. So, I moved to a different state that had a lower cost of living, and the companies here pay well above state minimum wage.

Nobody makes these decisions unless it involves a major change either in your lifestyle or your overall well-being. If your job can't even pay the property tax, it is not even worth doing it. You made the right decision. Bravo.
Wow! I hope that job works out for your friend!

I hope too. It was a massive change for her and I hope she likes that small town as well.
I haven't yet, but I'd move to Mars if it meant making more money. I'm kind of sick of my hometown anyway. Maybe it's time for me to start looking out of state 🤔
Mars may have some good benefits!! 😂
My priority is money and benefits and making sure im actually on a towmotor

Money is the main factor while making these decisions. And you are right about benefits too. They do make a lot of difference in your well-being.
I have lived in three different countries and nine different cities. I didn't necessarily move for work, I move because I love experiencing new places, and I found the work after. I fully support people stepping outside of their comfort zone for whatever reason it is that motivates them to do so.
I’ve done the same, and so glad I have! So many great life experiences.
