Hi all, recently in touch by Spotify recruiter for a Sec Engineer position for remote EU and was told that range was 60-80 out of base salary and equity. Had 2 years of security experience out of my 4 years. Was also told that there is no bonus scheme or no sign in bonus 😕 Not sure how I feel about this tbh.
What do you think?

Mine is all word of mouth / friend referrals. Mostly friends from my church. Just have to let people know you do that and enjoy it!!!!
schedule an ‘orientation’ visit first to know where things are and what they expect (often over a meal they provide).
Be sure to include how you want to be paid (cash when they depart or arrive / electronic methods). Maybe have a back up person to suggest if you’re already booked.
I would only do a site if I had no other options, but I’m kept pretty busy without it.
@A1, you need insurance to protect yourself (and your client) just in case. Don't wait for them to ask. You never know when you will need it.
It usually shouldn't be that expensive and you can breakdown and add the cost to you service price
I haven’t worked with Rover, other than as a customer when back when a former roommate needed a dog sitter.
I do work via Meowtel as a cat sitter and I make an average of $1300/mo just doing a few appointments per week, sometimes I have a couple of overnights.
One thing I HEAVILY recommend is, if you don’t do it via a platform such as Meowtel, Rover, or Wag, and you do it on your own - DEFINITELY look into getting your own liability insurance.
(I know care dot com is another option in terms of platforms you can use, but I’m not familiar enough to know if they handle the insurance part or if you get your own when you use them.)
Partner with your local vet clinics as well!! There's a great referral network there.
I met a great pet sitter through Rover ... might be good to start there and branch out on your own once you feel comfortable.

House Sitters America
A little late to this thread but I second TrustedHousesitters. I’ve been using it for sitting, and it’s been a great way to save on travel costs. You may be able to grow a paying base out of it eventually. You’d have to move off platform to do that though since it’s membership-based and the terms of service include not exchanging any money. But you can apply for sits and build up your reviews which you could then transfer over to getting paid per booking (like on Rover or entirely through your own business). I love it because it given me some really great free places to stay while I travel. Happy to share my discounted link if you want to check it out or have any questions about the experience. Just let me know.
