Jobs report is not good. As I’ve said, the signals are continuing to point towards an obv conclusion.

If these are what the fake numbers are saying, imagine what the real ones are.

The February jobs report showed that U.S. employers cut 92,000 jobs, which was significantly weaker than economists had expected. This decline pushed the unemployment rate up to 4.4%, suggesting that the labor market may be losing momentum after a period of relatively stable employment. The job losses occurred across many industries, indicating that the slowdown was broad rather than limited to a single sector.

Several major industries reported job cuts, including manufacturing, construction, and mining, which together lost tens of thousands of jobs. Even health care, a sector that has historically driven job growth due to an aging population, reported a drop of about 19,000 jobs, partly because of a nurses’ strike in California that temporarily sidelined thousands of workers. The widespread nature of these losses raised concerns that the overall labor market may be more fragile than headline employment numbers previously suggested.

The share of prime-age workers who are either working or actively looking for work slipped slightly to 83.9%, indicating a small decline in labor force participation. At the same time, the number of job openings has fallen to its lowest level since 2020, reflecting a cautious approach by employers who are hesitant to hire amid economic uncertainty.

This “low hiring, low firing” environment suggests businesses are holding steady rather than aggressively expanding their workforces.

What's the obvious conclusion?

I mean, I think it's been pretty apparent that we've been in a K-shaped economic recovery for awhile, and I only expect that to continue with the gap widening.

Hopefully, you and your loved ones are on the right side of the K. And hopefully, those who aren't can figure out a way to correct their trajectory.

I am scheduled to fly from NYC to Mumbai via Paris next Wednesday (Jan 5) for a ~10 day trip. Have any of you, your family, friends, etc. flown a similar route (I.e. from US to India via Europe) in the past week? If so, what is the arrival process (Covid test, quarantine requirements, etc.)? I’ve had all recommended vaccine shots and I’m only in Paris for a 2 hour layover (not leaving the airport). Any information on this would be greatly appreciated!

I have over 12 years in B2B sales/sales management experience along with a graduate degree. I am wanting to shift gears and I am at a point where I can invest time in myself to learn through practical experience. The new industry I am wanting to pursue is real estate investment. I have read all the books but want some hands on experience on the property management side. How could I best leverage my skills for a role in this, and what should my expectations be for negotiation in compensation?

Being from Minnesota, I think it's so funny when people act as if we are some far-left State just because we hadn't voted Republican in a presidential election since Nixon. Never mind that many of our elections are close or that we have elected Republican Senators and governors.

I have voted for both the GOP and the DFL, and I feel like they are both far more normal than their national counterparts
