I’m fully remote and work with a ton of moms. There typically block out their calendars and overcommunicate the times they need to be out—daycare drop off/pick up, dinner and bed times, kids home sick, etc. Everyone gets it. But I’ve noticed if they log off from 4-7, they usually get back online after to finish up any work they missed or start work earlier the next morning.
Honestly… I need to learn from them. Because I’m childless and haven’t been able to take a 6 pm workout class in months 🫠

I understand this feeling. Fully remote agencies steal way more of your time and energy. Instead of “working from home” you’re basically living at work.
I’m in the EXACT same boat. I would block your cal for pickup, that is number 1. If 1 more hour is expected maybe you can work in your phone a bit? I usually clocked back in at 7 after I got the kids settled and fed. Not ideal.
I had a bumpy start to the new gig too. But it will smooth out.
Can you set boundaries? Or, explain your situation as a mom? Are there other mothers at your new job you can talk to?
I did! They seemed understanding since everyone is in the same situation
