Like a decent but not notable restaurant. If you paid for it in a restaurant you wouldn’t rave about it but you’d be satisfied enough. As FREE food goes, it’s phenomenal lol.
Sometimes they make dishes that are like wow ok that’s legit super delicious even by restaurant standards. Sometimes a dish is very meh. But most are reasonably good (and again, elevated dramatically from there given the price).
Same review of the free in-office barista.
To illustrate with our behavior, there are many many examples of times when I or the people around me could have gone out and expensed $50/person for lunch (with summers for example) and we said ehhh let’s just eat in the office, it’s good enough. So that tells you that all the restaurants within walking distance downtown are not better enough quality to justify the slightly hassle of traveling there even when both options are free. That action speaks more than any review could I think.
It’s the best perk. Beats going to very average downtown restaurants and paying for it
It's a solid 3/5 compared to paid options. 5/5 for being free. Some days the main lunch entree is a little funky depending on how adventurous the chef chose to be, but can't complain about there being generally healthy options most days (salad bar, veggie sides for the hot lunch, etc).
Better than everywhere else, afaik.
That said, serious budget cuts hit the office this past summer. Offerings on Monday and Friday cut 50%. Wild snacks (chips made of chickpeas, fancy beef jerky) replaced with M&Ms. No more cold pressed juices.
Yep, we used to have warm breakfast five days a week. Now only cold breakfast is offered Mondays and Fridays.
