I am also given the week after Xmas off. if my toddlers are sick I can work at home with them. Interviewing w fortune 500 that offers 15 pto days that have to use for sick days too.Strictly in office job 9-5 and dress bus.prof. These bad benefits? Outdated culture?I am a seasoned professional. Seems tough.

Why? Your not a doctor saving lives, your team will manage
I don’t have to request, I just send my OOO and take it 🤷🏼♀️
Just make sure you have a backfill plan. Don’t feel guilty about taking PTO.
I look forward to scheduling mine and do so well in advance
I really don’t request PTO. I just tell people that I’m taking it.
Your company doesn't feel anxious about taking away your unused PTO when you exceed your firm's carryover limit (if you have one), so don't feel bad about using it before they do. Schedule it early, find a reliable person to put in your OOO Auto reply, and get yourself some fun in the sun.
I didn't take PTO the whole year. You will regret once you lose it.
Just take your entitlement dammit. The rest of us do
We have flexible time off (unlimited pto) and I still feel what you're saying. I think the unlimited part makes it worse
LMAO nope. My team leaves me to cover for them all the time!
We have unlimited but no one takes it unless you’re on the beach
M1 - agreed. I don’t think I’ve actually requested vacation since my first year unless it’s last minute. Normally have my vacation days planned months in advanced and just let people know I’ll be out that week. Never have had any problem.
AM1 - 1) no one there goes on vacation. Seems sad. 2) why would you take it when on the bench, that’s like my extra vacation though rarely happens so maybe that’s why I view it that way
