Last couple months I’ve been getting a ton of LinkedIn messages from IT staffing companies claiming to hire for data science positions.

I’ve responded to a few that seemed legit, but most feel scammy/like a waste of time. That said, it’s the only outreach I’m getting whereas I was getting way more messages from internal recruiters a few years ago.

Is this just a scam run through LinkedIn? Did companies lay off their talent acquisition and this is the new approach they’re trying out? Thoughts?

Newish to data analytics. Have some experience in power BI, sql, and R. I wanted to get some exposure to aws and saw the AWS cloud practitioner as an available course at my job. Is this cert worth it? Or should I try one of the more advanced ones ? The data analytics one for example but wasn’t sure if it would be difficult to get through as a beginner. Will it look good on my resume?
