Based on what you've said, I would be reaching out to my network and applying now. You don't want to be caught off guard if you're unlucky and don't survive the next round. If it comes.

Applying for unemployment immediately (the day you get laid off immediately), it takes a week or so for them to actually approve your application and begin your payments. Depends on the State you live in too with the speed on that. Application itself doesn’t take long at all.
