File for unemployment. There's usually a waiting period from my understanding. But ideally, you'll never get to that point. Based on what you've said, I would be reaching out to my network and applying now. You don't want to be caught off guard if you're unlucky and don't survive the next round. If it comes.
Watch TikTok videos of HR layoff and severance tips. There’s a lot of helpful videos that are good to know ahead of time. Also don’t sign anything. Do not sign it immediately. Don’t give them the satisfaction of being upset, they don’t care. Ask if you can record it if you want to. Anything they say can be used. So if the way you were our mvp, go to creative, etc, use that against them. Negotiate early. If they take days dragging their feet call them out and extend the time for every day of silence. If there’s anything they’ve done to you that’s a violation put it in writing somewhere now. We’re trained to fear certain buzzwords when they protect you and also if you don’t ahead of time they can dismiss it. Make sure you have all your files. Double check. Put them on a second hard drive. Make sure all your expenses are done. Be careful of leaving things at your desk if they offer to ship it to you. They will go through them. They will take things and justify it. Do NOT leave any personal tech (mouse, keyboard, headphones, etc) or hard dives. They will take them and delete your files. Claiming it was theirs or it has work property on it and the own it. It’ll be okay.
Applying for unemployment immediately (the day you get laid off immediately), it takes a week or so for them to actually approve your application and begin your payments. Depends on the State you live in too with the speed on that. Application itself doesn’t take long at all.

Appreciate the info! Very helpful
Take some time for yourself. A day, a week, a month whatever is possible.
In the grand scheme of things, spending a little bit of time isn’t going to do anything. It’s going to be beneficial to you and your mental health. You want to be at 100% when getting back out there. And it’s a draining process. Charge your battery
