Recommend sending a voicemail/email to set a time for a call before giving notice via email. Once you call one partner, others might find out quickly and it might save you time (whether they pick up or not).

The real reason I’ve been at my firm my whole career is that I was waiting for my favorite partners to leave so I wouldn’t feel bad emailing anyone who remains.
Haha this is giving me massive anxiety. I hate talking on the phone 😒
@LEA1 - Ok I guess I’ll have to do it! Thanks for putting this into perspective! Re breaking up. I’m a terrible person. I usually just ghosted the boys until they figured out what was going on. No call or text.
Email, and offer a few times to discuss. But be clear that you’ve already accepted, don’t open the door to counteroffer discussions. No one likes to be broken up with twice.
That’s a great rip! Thanks! No amount of money would make me stay unless they make me equity partner right then and there 😁

I call. If they don't pick up the second time, I leave a voicemail. By that point one of the partners I've reached has likely told them already.
About to give notice and wondering about this too. I feel like I should talk to the head of the group in person (either in the office or over the phone) but do I really have to tell all of the partners I work with over the phone or can telling other partners be over email? What about other associates on my matters? That’s a lot of phone calls.
