How common is it to land a high paying role in tech from an unrelated industry if you have the experience? Is it easier to crack into from the inside?

I have worked in marketing for about 6-7 years. First few years were in social media management. My goal is to work at a big tech company.

I’ve heard mixed results about the ROI of earning an MBA. My near future goal is to move into a Marketing Director (or senior manager) role.

1) How much does Google, Amazon, Microsoft, etc. value MBAs in the hiring process?

2) Anyone currently working at the companies above with only a BBA?

Hi all, I am a 4th year chemistry PHD student (International/Indian) and will surely finish in about a year, around Aug23. It can work for pharma (Merck, Pfizer, GSK etc.) as a scientist. However, I recently learnt that consulting firms particularly MBB also hire PHDs from diverse background. I am wondering what steps can I take in a year to do the transition if its possible? Or do I need to get some big brand name on my CV to do the transition?

As an immigrant who has no family or close friends in the US, I truly envy my colleagues who are able to work remote and travel within the country and see their family and friends. King is the analyst that the smarter managers choose for the team because he is quiet and confident. He gets promoted first. Kornacki cuts ties and goes to Big 4 for a salary increase.
