As an analyst, can I expect to see a salary raise in a couple of weeks? Or an AIP? And if so how much of each?

For anyone that moved to the US a bit later in life (early 30s), do you feel like you are financially behind retirement now by United States standards? My home country offers free health care, education, affordable living etc and now i’m in the US the only way I think I’ll ever catch up for retirement is by making Partner salary one day but still living like I’m on a Manager salary to save. Plus on a visa we cannot have other income. This is going to be a long game of catch up.

Got suckered into multiple calls/meetings with a financial advisor to sign up with him. I'm new to BL so just fell into a higher salary bracket and sorta fell for his shtick. I haven't signed on and plan on saying no. Any advice as to how to just say thanks but not thanks after a few hours of discussions?
