Looking back at previous jobs I had, the biggest sign something was wrong was how much my confidence changed. I went from feeling capable to constantly questioning myself. Has anyone else noticed their confidence shift depending on the environment they’re working in?

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.

Do layoffs actually benefit Indians who remain in the gc line because people who would be ahead in line are being laid off and can’t continue their gc application?

I clerked right out of law school and am now joining a boutique firm with the hopes of gaining experience quickly. HOA - doing something without approval.....was planning to change my windows without hoa approval but my neighbour snitched. I came clean to the hoa and now I need to go through a 2 mo approval process and they might not even approve my windows. I paid 7k for them. I am now feeling regret for not just ignoring the hoa email and then still installing and dealing with the fine on the back end ? Thoughts? I’m also worried now that I’m on some radar. Am I overthinking this?
