Looking for some advice.

I received an offer letter with a lower package than what was discussed. I was then informed that it would be revised soon and asked to wait. After a few weeks, I was told that the demand had closed and no revision could be approved, so only the original offer remains.

Has anyone else faced a similar situation? Would you still proceed with the offer, or treat the original offer letter as the only thing that matters regardless of later assurances?
