just married my pandemic bumble date last month💕
Yep! He's relatively insta-famous and I slid into his DMs (I never thought he would even see my message; it was just a funny thing to do with my bff) . Married + a toddler!
Not only did I have to slide into his DM’s first, I had to be the one to give him my number. 😂
Married three years come next May.
Not quite, but I just found out recently that from his perspective, I pulled a cat “I live here now, you’re welcome”. We’d been long distance flirting for 4 years in our teens (met online doing collaborative writing) and I finally told him I wanted to move across the country to where he was and be together. I thought we agreed on that. Apparently he didn’t really believe it until I told him I was excited and I’d be there tomorrow. That was 23, years ago, 13 married. I waited for him to pop the question.
I asked him to come to a law school party my friend was having. Was so nervous I thought I was going to throw up. Happily married 27 years now and counting, two grown kids in college. looking forward to the rest of our lives together. 😊
Does bumble messaging first count? Or unmatching with them (for no reason other than fear of catching fears) and then regretting it and sliding into their LinkedIn dms? He still asked me out on our first date (on Valentine’s Day) but I put the effort into reaching out and re-reaching out.* the kind of guys who want to marry lawyer types aren’t afraid of a woman taking the lead.
*I had tried to find him on LinkedIn when we were talking and couldn’t find him. He said he thought it be weird to reach out after I unmatched so he changed his profile to match his current title and used one of the same pictures from his bumble.
That’s cute!

I know couples for whom this is the case, I also know couples for whom the female popped the question to get married, follow your bliss
we were set up by a friend but i 100% pulled out all the relationship milestones first, like defining the relationship, etc. so i think you should (we’ve been married 4 years this month with a toddler)!
I sent my husband my number via Facebook after meeting him at a house party. We’ve been together for 14 years and married for 8.
Gave him my number and texted him first, a long paragraph lol

Love this
I bought him a drink first (actually, I offered and he said no!), but we kept hanging out and eventually he made a move.
We met at a bar and I gave him my number without him asking, if that counts! Together 11 years, married 7
I asked my wife out first.
I messaged him on fb back in the day and planted the seed that he should get a group of us together to hang out.
I didn't ask him out first but I did say "I love you" first... happily married for 6 years!
Sure, after we spoke on yahoo for over a year. Married almost 18 years.
Kind of - we were in different divisions of the same university and our mutual professor hosted a bbq, we met at the bbq, and I asked him to drive me and my roommate back to our apartment. He then asked me to dinner, and then rest is history (10 years married this Saturday!)
