What are your hours like? The speed of progression is insane
Everyone has different experience and depends on your sector ofc but id say my experience has been fairly typical which is, average 9-9 mon - thu, with maybe a cumulative couple of months a year of more brutal like 9-11/12 and I’ve had a few nights up to 3am, and then I’ve also had a few months more chill at ~9-7.
In addition to this I’ve had ~2-3 weeks or so really chill with only a few hours a day (this is the lucky beach time when nothing to do before Xmas or casual training time, or weird waiting for scope def of project etc)
Most people who regularly work beyond 10 I think is because things are poorly scoped, they are over delivering or don’t know how to push back
Then Fridays pretty much always 9-6
Not worth it IMO for a few extra £££s (after tax)
Can someone really make it to AP with 5.5 years of experience?
Yep it’s possible, of course the progression only applies for those who make it to each next level, and it can be slower for people, but it can actually even be faster for some too
V helpful. Does this vary by team? Or standard across the board?
Standard across the board for consultants, we also have expert roles & specific design/digital implementation specialists etc and comp may vary a little there, but not hugely i don’t think
Any insight into 'up or out' culture? Do those that don't hit promotion within the above timeframe get politely asked to find something else?
Thanks, appreciate the insight!
Hey thanks for this - just out of interest I’ve seen people hired as ‘junior associates’ - where in the total comp range does this fall?
