Get ready to sign the check during your apartment tour. Good apartments are only one the market for a day or two max.
Agree, looking in Jan or Feb is ideal, but there will continue to be apartments that hit the market in March and April. Also agree very narrow range on Zillow is clutch. Don’t be bamboozled into an area of town or price range you weren’t interested in when a realtor takes you out. There are enough apartments you can be choosy as long as you do your research
+1 for back bay or the south end.
Next June?
Happy to send you neighborhood/broker recs if you post a burner! I live in Back Bay and have circulated to all the new start classes haha. Can advise on south end and back bay; others better suited for the other areas.
Where is your work?
Some affordable (not lot) in Seaport. check your budget. Savin Hill is nice too and def check Beacon Hill and Back Bay.
As an FYI, you'll probably need to pay 4x rent just to move in, first + last + security + broker fee. If you're just starting out back bay/south end (which is different than southie) might be tough. Southie is nothing like the movies, very gentrified and full of yuppies. Cambridge/Somerville on the Red line is a little far from south station, but can be a bit more affordable
I LOVE living in Brookline. Coolidge corner is a very special area just outside of Boston. Highly recommended.
Agreed. Great part of town.
