My associate and I work for an East coast client and we are based on West Coast. We often trade off taking the early morning calls, yesterday I was online at 6am to cover off on meetings and she was going to log on at 7:30am to cover a morning meeting today. Typically her working hours are 7am-3:30pm. (By her choice!)

Today she overslept and there was no one to cover off on our clients status. How would you handle this? I understand it happens but it’s a bad look on our side.

It’s hard to be motivated when rounds of layoffs happen and you see all your friends leave. But one thing that’s gotten me through all of this is working out. And when I say workout I mean the most pathetic, sad, barely completed beginner-level cardio dance routines. I’ve somehow forced myself to move while on lockdown and it’s somehow forced me to feel better. Whatever you’re doing, wherever you are: get up and move even if you don’t finish or end up going on a walk. Pls take care of yourself❤️

Does anyone else feel like people who are generally nice in person and on calls sound mean or stand-offish in emails and text/chat? I get that over-use of friendliness in text can come off as green/immature, but I tend to try and cushion my words with positivity or even exclamation marks/the occasional emoji to show that I don't sound completely unemotional.

Or maybe i'm just an overthinking copywriter who's reading into it too much.
