Please do not sell yourself short because of your age! I started my new job in the insurance industry at age 57! You have over twenty years of valuable experience to offer a new employer. I found my insurance job on Indeed. I set search parameters for the type of job I wanted, and I responded to alerts about those jobs. I hope you find a new job soon.
It's definitely true that age seems to be an area that employers are still discriminating. But all you can do to avoid that is leave off dates from your education, and only include your most relevant work experience from the last 10-15 years. I would work hard to frame your experience as an asset and also use your network to get some referrals
Sorry about you losing your job. The first thing you need to do update your resume and have it done one of the websites online. I would apply to as many jobs as possible. Just understand that you will get a lot of employers who do not even respond and if they do they will send a rejection email. It is a numbers game the more you apply the better your chances are. Keep track of the jobs you are applying for. I use LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor. Do not get discouraged you will find another job it just takes time. Good Luck.
Resume Now is a great site to upload your resume to. It will reformat it, reword it, etc. There’s also the option to have someone read it for you and give feedback. There’s a free trial period and if you’re diligent, you can get everything updated during the trial and then cancel. If u need more time to do it and end up paying for 1 month, it’s still totally worth it. All the best to you
What side/department/lines of insurance had you been in slash are looking at now?
I understand that this seems like a huge challenge. However, there are many more tools to help you learn new strategies and resources. I use Udemy to learn new things and Davis Jones has a great Udemy course for finding the perfect job. Udemy.com - Create your profile. Then, wait a day or two for discounted prices for courses. And, you get a lifelong connection to the person who created the course you chose.

I’m sorry to hear about your job.
While it’s challenging, utilize your network and that would help you get a leg up from other younger candidates
