I haven’t felt guilty if the work is truly slow and I’m just catching up on emails and projects. I do feel slightly guilty if the lack of hours or work ethic is on my end.
Have to enjoy it. I billed so many hours last year - I am having the same moment! You go from 100mph to zero and it’s like….what is my purpose….

It happens. I billed .6 yesterday. Was working on a non-billable project most of the day. It usually evens out at some point.
Nah - I cherish them. I’m always way over my target hours every year so I appreciate the slacker days when I get them.
I feel like I’m missing out on something. I know. It’s weird but I feel like I should be billing something! 🤷🏻♀️ the least amount I have done is 5 hours and I feel bad about it. 😂🤣
I always take time like this to go through my emails and see if there was anything I missed that I could bill for. I also like these days for going through all my cases to make sure everything is up to date and everything on my checklist is done for that case. I usually find a couple of things that can be done.
I’ve worked at big and small firms and sometimes there’s just no work to do 🤷🏻♂️ it used to to freak me out—like I was being unproductive or wasting time—but now that I’ve been at it almost five years I’ve learned to just enjoy the slow days when they come
