My View on PMR/ Compa Ratio.

PMR ratio is a scam in companies. Each band has a salary range (e.g., 6B: 5.3 to 11.5), but you’ll never reach the upper limit.

PMR is tied to the mid-range (e.g., 8.30), considered the 'market standard.' If your salary is above this, PMR is 1+ and you're deemed overpaid; if below, PMR is less than 1.

PMR heavily impacts increments. Managers often claim high PMR (close to 1) means no eligibility for a hike.

I’m interviewing for a marketing manager role at a company based in SF. I’m genuinely excited about the role and the company but we’ve yet to discuss salary. I expect to be asked at some point, but my research has given me a VERY broad range. So I’m here to do a bit more research. I’ve got 5 very relevant years of experience and will have an associate manager directly reporting to me. Should I leave my first permanent job as a team leader of 4 DPs in a FMCG business (only been there for 4 months) to join a huge Tech business for a 12months contract?

They offer me 60% more money than my permanent role. Circa 2000 dollars every month in my pocket

I joined IBM on last week of May 2022, was on bench till 20th November 2022 and got allocated to project on 21 November 2022.
