Hi fishers! I have offer and signed contract with Deloitte UK and my start day is in the beginning of April. I need skilled worker visa, and we haven’t applied yet for that. Screening and onboarding is in progress. Immigration team doesn’t reply since reached me out 1st time. How much time does it usually needed to go through the whole process? How many days take for visa to be approved since application?Deloitte
I’ve been trying to get into the top tier Associate Product Marketing Manager position Google for some time now for just an interview and I feel like business majors somehow have such a stronger chance in getting interviewed especially my business school and I feel really discouraged as an Econ Major and I have a lot of marketing experience that I’ve built over the years. Are there any non-business majors in the tech realm in non technical positions at Google that can advise me?

None? Consulting sucks you’re life no matter the firm, and as a dad you will always be assumed to have more flexibility than working moms, regardless of the situation. Sure a slalom or smaller firm might be better but at that point why not just go to industry?
Always fun when a female MD makes you cancel something with your kids because she has a piano recital or soccer game with hers.
I spent time at KPMG early in my career- the demands on your time are not too different.
Spent time in both big 4 and MBB. I feel consulting is incompatible with any sort of consistent parental presence.
The Partners I see with children all have stay at home spouses or au pairs. Funding either is a noble pursuit, but at trade off of less hands-on parenting
LEK isn’t bad all things considered - parental leave is good and once you’re back you can opt in for up to 12 months of a core services role with no impact on pay for the first 6 months. Also health insurance benefits for family is inexpensive. As far as the job itself, it’s probably better for the C/M roles when you have more flexibility. I’m an SLSS (SAC) and I’m finding the hours downright brutal. My son is up at 6am and doesn’t care if I’ve been working late and there’s only so much you can do WLB wise to adjust
Point B. Better wlb
What would you like to know? I just recently joined but know that they have better wlb for the industry, are ranked well as a best place to work, and are scaling their business fast
West Monroe has been amazing to me and my family over the last 8 years. Work/life integration is a primary focus for us and PMs all really do their best to hold true to it on projects.
