Oh, this job sure does get extremely monotonous and low-key boring. Meeting new people every day, even if it's on a screen, is definitely exciting, but not when your main agenda is to scrutinize and analyze them to see if they can be trusted as a new hire. How do you break out of the cycle? I need a refresher to come back stronger.

What keeps me going is remembering that each hire shapes the team and culture in a real, lasting way. It gets boring for me too, so I try mixing up my routine by blocking time for learning new interview techniques or connecting with different departments to see how hires perform post-onboarding. It’s not always easy, but shifting perspective from just evaluation to impact helps me recharge and stay motivated.

Having to assess people all the time can get to be a bit mind numbing. It's an important part of the work, and over time you develop an instinct for it. If you find that you're not relating to it, perhaps it's really not the position for you.

boring is better than stressed is how i try to reframe it. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt

Can I export a list with all emails I sent for the month? I would like to use it to compare to my billed time to make sure I don’t miss anything. Usually I go through my sent inbox but it has so much extra info so it’s not a quick scan. Plus outlook does weird things sometimes like combines conversations so I only see most recent sent item in that convo. Alternatively, do you have a good way confirming you caught all of your email time?
