No but not the easiest time to do so. I would network and get some referrals

How well do you understand the cloud? Could be worthwhile to take the aws cloud practitioner course.

Maybe. More importantly you need to understand tech if you want to get a job in tech…especially in PM where you’re going to be building solutions that leverage the cloud in some capacity.

When building a new brand, who is the actual client? Who has the final say? Who should you really listen to if no one is taking the lead? The president of the company, the original owner, the financial money partner, the third party manager? Everyone seems to have a voice, but the main contact is the underling gathering and offering their own opinion, which strangely seems to be the most on point. How do you handle this type of situation?

Pence is SO GOOD. I’ve never been this impressed. Kamala seems a bit lost tbh. And she’s smirking too much on serious topics.

What firms allow you to be a hands on developer? I know Accenture has roles of such nature - but curious about others in case I want to leave. My fear is going to a firm where a lot of the work is done offshore and I end up being more of a “business analyst / solutions architect”.

I'm looking for a new challenge. I've already worked at FAANG companies (though not all), and I'm fairly senior. What's a good next step for me?

What does it even mean now to work “in tech”. I feel like people are over romanticizing the “in tech” part to mean working any job in a tech company or the IT department of a company, when I think it should be more towards people in product, design, engineering, and maybe corporate strategy, etc. I’m not trying to gatekeep anyone, but I feel like this is problematic because it bleeds into stuff like “the prestige working in FAANG” but one is in a non-tech role or lower requirement role.

As far as reviews go- does everyone check Glassdoor and indeed before applying? I’ve had a couple companies reach out to me but they’re a 3.6 or 3.4 and doesn’t really spike my interest. I usually try and work for companies that are at least a 4.0 so I have some sanity left at the end of the day.

When a company acquires another company does it normally give the new employees the same salary they had with the old company. Can you negotiate or is that not recommended? Can they fire me for trying to negotiate?

EY I got an offer: 140K & no bonus for the Manager, Architect (Remote - Medium COL) in Audit (Not Consulting). Looks like that is the best they could do. Based on my research by going through the levels and glassdoor, I was expecting in 160K -180K Range. Do you think my research numbers are off? Is that offer reasonable? or lowball given the current market? Please suggest. Thank you. Deloitte KPMG

How much of a pay cut are you willing to take to (hopefully) re-find purpose in your job?

My Context: work in tech, company has HQ in the Bay but I live in Canada. Single, no kids, 1 mortgage, no debts.

TC: ~200k USD (60% base / 40% equity). I put very low effort, completely disengaged and unmotivated, with anxiety building up. Don’t like the company, but very few companies can match where I live

I’m being offered ~110k to work more, better title, fun project and company
