Okay, so this happened way too many times at the store I worked at. Someone would come in trying to return something we don’t even sell. We politely say, “Sorry, we can’t do that,” and suddenly we’re liars, idiots, or getting a full-on yelling session. Like if I could process it, I would.
Five minutes of paperwork > getting screamed at for no reason. Brain officially made of worms.

Back when I was getting started in the food world, I worked flipping burgers at In-n-Out. A man came in and said the burgers he had gotten weren’t right. He dumped the food on the counter and then he started throwing them back behind the counter. We gave him a refund and then his demeanor completely changed. He was calmer and he told us to have a great day as he left us to clean up the mess he made.

Once when I was waiting tables, I had a guy pay me cash. The change was 45 cents, which I didn't give back to him because like who wants that. He then asked where the change was, and when I explained that I didn't give back the loose change, he made a big stink about how dollars and cents matter and didn't leave me a tip. He was a republican staffer on capitol hill.
