Any Breitling fans out there?

Pulled out some vintage on a Sunday.

Thoughts on a Omega De Ville Prestige as a first luxury watch? Would be ~$7.5K USD at retail. Some friends have said great things about Omega as a starter, whereas others say it’s not worth it over a Rolex Oyster Perpetual (which would be similar in cost).
I personally love how clean the design is, the use of gold, and the thinner band as it links the watch … find the Rolex band design to be too chunky.

SMP, but you can’t go wrong with either. Whichever you like better aesthetically is probably better. Keep in mind the regular SMPs are hand wound and 42mm (that wear smaller). BBs are mechanical and come in a variety of sizes.

Agree.
Why not the pelagos 39?
I would go with Omega, but do you mean the Seamaster 300 or the Seamaster Aquaterra?
Valid question. My personal opinion is Aqua Terra (green teak dial) > black bay > seamaster 300. The Aqua Terra is so good, pictures don’t do it justice.

Really depends on desired use. The SMP can wear large on some and difficult to wear under dress shirt sleeve. Omega is great at hiding case dimensions though and the BB can feel a little chunkier too. Which size BB? I have a 7.5 in wrist and can pull off both the 39 and 41mm versions.
What feels right and what makes you feel all warm and fuzzy is the technical answer :)
Either an AT or 300M > BB
