Go with the speedmaster if you can spring for the Saphire crystal - the hesalite scratches super easily which will get frustrating. Speedys are a quintessential “first watch”.
Was in the same situation and deciding between the BB and the GS. Ended up getting the BB and love it!
Rising Star
Personally went snowflake because I love the dial and movement/have a sportier watch on the way for my wedding, but you can’t go wrong with any of those. BB58 and Speedmaster are more “versatile” and probably the most common of the three.
Suggest trying them all on to find which piece you like the most

Couldn’t disagree more on the “go with sapphire” point - Hesalite is a much more classic look, and a $10 tube of polywatch can buff out a lifetime of scratches. It’s the classic version and a bit cheaper. I have it and love it

Guess it’s a good problem to have. The speedmaster has been my goal for a while, but love the GS, and the BB58 feels the most versatile.

Good points all around.
Yeah, I have around 5 vintage King Seikos / Lord Matics etc, so the “under appreciated” GS vibe isn’t really an issue to me. kinda like that only those who know will understand. I’ll see if I can find a Moon with sapphire.
