One of my favourite Crazy Customer stories involves my staff more than the customer. Caught this guy opening product to steal. As I was escorting him out, he said the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me: "As long as you're running this store, I am NEVER coming back"

First of all, funny that you think that's YOUR choice. Second, thank you.

But I hadn't even thought of it. He was using a little pocket knife to open the product. My staff started the rumour that I looked at him, and said "that's not a knife" (I'm Australian)

God, do I miss that store ;)

That's awesome 😂😂

That's wild! You have a reputation of being "hard to steal from"-able, haha. They are definitely worse things they could've said. Hopefully they think twice about stealing from a store again, but they'll probably just go somewhere with more lax security next time 😆

You know, all of that is fine with me. I would rather have a reputation than have to constantly send people to jail. Also, no theft deterrence is 100%, so if all I do is encourage them to go elsewhere, good enough.

Tough time getting past final step: I’ve been trying to make a career shift for 10 months now and continue to get rejected at the last step. Im confident in the value I can provide and do well at presenting it. However, once it’s comes down to me and 1-2 other candidates, I repeatedly have been turned down for the person who has more relevant experience as they’re a safer bet for the employer. Would love advice from anyone who’s dealt with this before. It’s tough to get them to take a risk on me

Back when I was getting started in the food world, I worked flipping burgers at In-n-Out. A man came in and said the burgers he had gotten weren’t right. He dumped the food on the counter and then he started throwing them back behind the counter. We gave him a refund and then his demeanor completely changed. He was calmer and he told us to have a great day as he left us to clean up the mess he made.
