I have applied to several positions up Google. I have not heard anything back at all. No matter if I customize my résumé to the job description I still don’t hear anything back. I am wondering as to why Google ghost people instead of just telling them that they didn’t get the job? Do people on Google believe it is appropriate for the recruiters just a ghost people especially if they feel they don’t match the job?
I gave interview in Amazon and cleared all the rounds , then went on hold and still on hold due to hiring freeze in that departement. HR does respond and update me when reached out.
Interesting thing which happened here is iam cracking each every product based interviews now after my tough preparation for Amazon and getting higher packages than what Amazon would give. So whatever happens , happens for good. Cheers Amazon

I have been working in the construction industry for 2 years under a general contractor. I am wanting to get into consulting and my ideal role would be something like an Associate in Major Projects Advisory with KPMG. I’m curious to know which firms/companies have positions and departments like the one mentioned that I could apply for?

As a hiring manager who has been burned hiring someone with great experience and zero skills and behaviors shown in role, that’s where my gut goes looking for the differentiator.
My advice is to find your why in a story format so you can memorably stand out as the person who will deliver in role

I have been dealing with the same thing for about a year. I’m always the alternative candidate, and many times have experience doing the hiring managers work, or their boss’ (been involved in two brand launches and basically ran the US business for one). But when I apply to do a small piece of that at a bigger firm they hire someone with 10-20 years of experience doing the day to day poorly at a different company. It’s the safer bet. I have adjusted my search to much smaller firms and industries - and am having a bit more success (getting interviews) but no offers yet.
What space are you wanting to get into? What space are you leaving.
I’m in your situation, changing from consulting to industry and have less direct experience at times. But I just got an offer after 8 months. For me it was a numbers game, putting myself in front of as much hiring managers and panels and teams as possible and hopefully one will stick. Going a little lower on salary is another way.
