Nope nope and nope.

Nothing good can come of it
Is this HR? Around Christmas party time…. I was never there. It wasn’t me. 😇
Don’t defecate where you eat. “Situationships” are too stressful as they are. Do you really want that at work?
Yes - I’m a senior partner, and had a 6 month relationship with a director in another division a few years back.
Worst (more embarrassing) part was having to inform the leadership. The only question they came back to me with was - ‘can I assume it’s consensual’…
As long as it’s not a direct report, and there’s no infidelity involved - they were ok.
Not particularly smart, not sure I’d do it again. Although one thing did surprise me - after finding out, a lot of other partners mentioned to me that they also met their husband/wife at the firm.
Isn’t it apparently where over 40% of people meet their partner?
The “consensual” comment had me cracking up. Like, “well actually, no. But she is well contained in the pit and puts the lotion on its skin, so it’s fine”
Terrible idea - but seen it many times especially in Europe
Situationship?! There is no way I would start something at work unless I had every intention of a long term relationship. I would never potentially blow up my career for something that wasn't serious.
Been tempted, but never pursued. The world/firm is too small and word would spread.
OMG, this doesn’t happen at EY
lol. Uh huh. Sure it doesn’t.
Oh yes it does - I can name at least 5 with Partners and staff.
USA here - no thanks. I see the Europeans pairing up all the time though when they come to USA for conferences and tradeshows.
Your professional reputation is everything, I don’t want to risk running into someone then being embarrassed and sharing with others. It’s too much risk, some of us have a very pristine reputation at work and we want to keep it that way. There’s TOO MUCH money to be made around here and I’m certainly not losing it for a situationship!
