Ex-Booz here. It has always been a good stop on a career but I wouldn’t want to go up the promotion path. Very insular and only the favorites got the experience required. Constant reorganization’s didn’t help. Glad I was there but also glad I left
BAH went down the Federal staff aug path forever ago and really hit the gas when they went public in 2007/8. It’s more like an SAIC large contractor shop this point. I’m sure there are pockets of interesting work. Go to Deloitte if you want true Federal consulting and decent pay.
I’m an ex Booz as well
Culture is dwindling, at least in my experience. It’s 90% staff aug work, and insanely dull for anyone who isn’t lucky.
Pay is laughable and the only way they market themselves is to promise a “good work life balance”, yet most of their college hires (which are non exempt by the way) work 45-50 hour weeks, and told to only charge 40, which is more than I work at Deloitte.
They’re on pace to become another defense contractor like mitre or something
I have an interview with MITRE next week. I’d love to hear more about it.
Poor pay, no clear career direction, the higher level folks look out for themselves only
I was content at BAH, pay was worth it considering a 40 hr week was pretty standard for me.
I DONT want to put in the time or commitment a 150k job would ask for.
Only reason I left was because of timing/location .
The firm wide performance expectations are not used by my team in case of promotions. It's clearly people who are favorites who are recognized and promoted
Tons of Booz refugees at Guidehouse too. Seems like there’s issues with compensation and culture.
I was unhappy at Booz because of the low compensation. Good people for the most part but I was surprised at how bad managers were with basic leadership skills.
In regretfully left booz, but it was because of timing and location. There’s no there there.
Sad to hear
I just left from Booz too. I left for the salary and Deloitte wanted me for my clearance.
26% percent raise.
I was at Booz for 4.5 years. I had bad managers, no career guidance for career path. Not much technical knowledge to learn. Been at Deloitte for 1.5 years. learned way more than I ever did at Booz. great managers.
Certainly feel this way now at Booz 🎯 what kind of projects were you working on at Booz?
