It's a current solution to a current problem, but with professional services firms, the relationship and treatment of employees does matter when you're hoping to attract and retain talent in the future. The "future" seems like it came a lot sooner than Deloitte anticipated.

As an overpaid experience hire - probably not applicable for us lol
I see this reality. More new folks are hired above the level as compared to internal talents, which means more pay for externals than internal. The sad part, the internal talent is ask to buddy up, ‘help’ the external hire. sad I know, but true
That is happening in a lot of places but they never learn
