What ab trying to sign up for temp consulting gigs?
Was coming to suggest this. Try Catalant, which is specifically for strategy and management consulting—the work is interesting, projects vary in duration and day rates are pretty in line with industry standard (aka 8-10+ times more than minimum wage 😊)
Tutoring? Otherwise you can work at Starbucks and once you get hired negotiate to just work weekends. My brother did that for 2.5 months and it worked great. But he’s also committed to at least one weekend a month for six months.
Craigslist or sign up using Wyzant
Tutoring, teach English online, barista
Are you broke? Why not just further your education and prepare for the new job?
Not broke but I think living within my means with any temporary income I can get will make me feel a lot better about my situation
Server. At the right restaurant you can actually make a lot of money (compared to being unemployed, not to being a consultant)
Yeah I still bartend a few nights a month for extra cash that goes directly to paying off debt. Honestly, I could probably stop doing it but I love my coworkers and it’s easy, mindless work which is a nice change
Consider selling some of your stuff instead? Or bake some goods and sell that? Maybe consider being a dishwasher at a restaurant or post on craigslist as a helper to move/pack for x amount per/hr?
I would just work at a restaurant or a coffee shop to be honest. I always wanted to try, and I feel those jobs are easiest to get for short term.
Try contracting, apply to agency gigs online they hire very quick
Why the reason for lay off ? .. again .. just relax and enjoy the free time . That’s the best job you can ever find .
You could also do a big clean out of your place and try and sell things you don’t want simultaneously. Passive $! If you’re feeling bold I’d go to SE Asia or a cheap country and stay in a hostel with a backpack. Live a little!
Why two months wait?
