I actually think AI is more of a tool than a mirror. Sure, it reflects what we put into it, but it doesn't necessarily show us the whole truth. It can amplify biases, yes, but it doesn't really make us confront them unless we choose to.. it's not as "honest" as it seems.
That's a valid observation. And it's not just the AI itself, but how people react to it. You see so much gullibility around it that it's a little scary, if fascinating, to monitor commentary about it. There are people who honestly believe AI is their wise friend who is never wrong about anything. It's on the level of people who say "of course that's right, I saw it on the internet."
